Wednesday’s dismal fifth Democratic debate among lackluster uninspiring candidates proved once again, Democrats simply don’t get it.

After a full week of self indulgent Democrats appearing on every cable news network telecast, fabricating an impeachment inquiry, viewers simply tuned out of the debate, because they recognized it was those  same foolish individuals fabricating once again, their individual unachievable platforms, suggesting to the viewing audience they had real solutions.

Simply put, viewers had Democratic overload to the dismay of MSNBC, which pulled in a dismal 6.5 million total viewer’s, according to early Nielsen Media Research data.

Among those key demographics, adults between the ages of 25 to 54, the Democratic debate pulled in only 1.7 million viewers. Compared to the 2015 Republican debate which drew an “all-time high within that same age group of nearly 24-million viewers, of course at the time candidate Trump was in the debate, which most likely was the reason for the high volume of viewers.

This debate saw a downturn in viewers from CNN’s 2-night October debates, which drew in a little over 8 million viewers the first night, and 10 million viewers the second night, which translates to almost a 30% downturn in viewership.

While September’s Democratic debate airing on ABC pulled in just under 14 million viewers, which may suggest that after three consecutive months of debates Democratic voters may be having a hard time picking a viable candidate to go against President Trump in 2020.

Perhaps even more remarkable then the anemic numbers, was the fact that no one on stage had a break away moment, no remarkable slogan or memorable line, which usually becomes a media event for days following a debate, which once again may have been due to the impeachment fiasco which most likely had a negative affect on 2020 candidates, who couldn’t get any sustained media traction.

Moreover the only thing more dismal then MSNBC’s ratings was the horrible debate performance by former Vice President Joe Biden.

The former vice president struggled even before he set foot on stage when his campaign accidentally sent out post-debate emails asking for money hours before the debate, forcing the bemused campaign to send a subsequent email apologizing for the strategic foul-up.

However that was just the beginning of Biden’s misfortunes, when asked how he would address sexual violence.

The vice president seemed to morph into a superhero character drawing giggles from the audience.

He began his response as someone who was extremely aware of the issue concerning domestic violence reminding those in attendance that he authored legislation to address violence against women.

He then began going into a tirade arguing to no one exclaiming “No man has a right to raise a hand to a woman in anger other than in self-defense, and that rarely ever occurs.”

Raising his voice further he continued, “So we have to just change the culture, period.” Then perhaps to emphases the subject further, he attempted to use an ill conceived metaphor stating “And keep punching at it and punching it and punching at it.”

CNN editor-at-large Chris Cillizza gave out the night’s winner and loser awards Thursday morning. And Biden was first on the list of losers. Cillizza started by pointing out that despite a “softball” first question, Biden’s “opening answer was shaaaaaky.”

Adding, “In talking about domestic violence, he said that people have to just keep “punching” at the problem. I know what he meant. But that was definitely a poor choice of words. And then another: He said he had the support of the only black woman elected to the Senate. Except that he forgot that California Sen. Kamala Harris was on the stage.”

The 6th debate will be December 19th in Los Angeles…can’t wait.

I’m betting reruns of Gilligan’s Island drew a bigger audience. Probably wrong, but still fun conjecture.
