Make no mistake this move by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to finally go on the record to vote on an impeachment inquiry, isn’t because she and shifty Adam Schiff have finally realized the process they’re engaged in is tainted.

The move for a vote was caused by Pelosi’s reading of the 2020 “tea leaves” – along with a recent New York Times/Siena College poll concerning six key swing states that do not support impeachment, those swing states were recently flipped by Democrats in the midterm election, and actually hold the key in Pelosi retaining the House in 2020.

Those critical swing states would most likely flip back to Republicans if those Republican voters believe that both Pelosi and Schiff are engaged in a phony impeachment inquiry, held in secret, with no due process for the President, worst yet leaking snippets of testimony from witnesses, favorable to Democrats.

That stark realization by Pelosi is without a doubt why the Speaker has announced she will hold a formal vote by House Democrats on Thursday; in short, Pelosi is currently stuck between-a-rock and-a-hard-place with no positive outcome in sight.

The York Times/Siena College poll regarding Pennsylvania, Michigan, Florida, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Arizona, show a full 53% of responders do not support impeachment, compared to 43% who do. That’s a 10% margin in favor of no impeachment, which actually favors the President, considering his margin of victory within those states was 1.5% in 2016. The takeaway from this poll is clear that the majority of voters are against impeachment.

Which spells bad news for Democrats, in that unless there’s compelling evidence that the President committed a crime rising to the level of “high crimes and misdemeanors,” the backlash from those apolitical voters, who believe in the simple premise of “fair-play” regardless of Party, will undoubtedly make their voices heard in 2020.

To make matters even more unpleasant for the 79-year old Speaker is that Republicans have finally grown a pair, and are finally doing what Democrats excel in, “sticking together.”

GOP leader Kevin McCarthy responded to the Presidents tweet, reposting on social media.

“It’s been 34 days since Nancy Pelosi unilaterally declared her impeachment inquiry.”

“Today’s backtracking is an admission that this process has been botched from the start.”

“We will not legitimize the Schiff/Pelosi sham impeachment.”

Pelosi once again finally confirmed in a statement on Monday, her desire to move forward with an impeachment inquiry.

“This week, we will bring a resolution to the Floor that affirms the ongoing, existing investigation that is currently being conducted by our committees as part of this impeachment inquiry, including all requests for documents, subpoenas for records and testimony, and any other investigative steps previously taken or to be taken as part of this investigation.”

The high stakes drama for Pelosi and company is to convince the voting public the President committed a crime. However the release of the phone transcript has already answered that question despite how many witnesses Democrats call, it’s there in black and white, proving there was no QUID PRO QUO, it’s simply not there.

Moreover “if” Pelosi does as she’s promised hold a vote by the entire House on Thursday, making this the first time they’ll officially go on the record.

Pelosi also said Monday, “We are taking this step to eliminate any doubt as to whether the Trump Administration may withhold documents, prevent witness testimony, disregard duly authorized subpoenas, or continue obstructing the House of Representatives.”

However, it appears that Democrats are worried that their so-called evidence may need a little extra back-up, by actually enlisting an Obama appointed a judge to release access to secret grand-jury material related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, which was already adjudicated by the Mueller Report, exonerating the President.

It appears that Democrats are once again overreaching, and throwing whatever garbage against the wall, to see if it will stick…the beauty of this worthless exercise is that the voting public is getting a ringside seat, in just how desperate and obsessed Democrats have become.

“Dems aren’t trying to change their Soviet-style impeachment process, they’re formally endorsing it.”

“Pelosi announces they’ll finally vote to open the impeachment inquiry.”

“Codifying a sham process halfway through doesn’t make it any less of a sham process.”

— Rep. Jim Jordan (@Jim_Jordan) October 28, 2019

“Pelosi now says there will be a vote Thu to authorize their impeachment inquiry. This should include minority subpoena rights, equal allocation of staff, immediate release of all transcripts & more. POTUS’ counsel should be able to attend depos, present evidence & quest. witnesses.”
