The Bashing of Trump

The Bashing of Trump

When it comes to Trump-bashing in the media, there is an interesting political ménage et trois.  They are a powerful combine – and most do not seem to know they are bonded in more than left wing Democrat political advocacy.

Among the more strident critics of President Trump  is CNN’s Political Correspondent Dana Bash.  Over at MSNBC, one of the most frequent empaneled Trump bashers is former Obama administration official Jeremy Bash.  Yep!  The last names are not a coincidence.  They were once  husband and wife.

The Bashes were divorced in 2017 – familially if not politically.

Jeremy Bash is a hardcore left-wing Washington establishmentarian who spent most of his career in the shadowy world of intelligence – one of those deep state types.   He gained his rise to fame and fortune by serving as a “national security advisor” to the unsuccessful Al Gore/Joe Lieberman 2000 campaign. But he got noticed and eventually wound up as Chief Minority Counsel for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence under the tutelage of former California Congresswoman Jane Harmon.

(If that name rings a bell, she is currently head of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for scholars – a left-wing think tank named after one of the most overtly racist presidents in American history – and  also a frequent Trump-bashing voice in left-wing media.)

Jeremy gained major political momentum during the Obama presidency.  In 2009, the newly appointed head of the CIA, Leon Panetta, tapped Jeremy to be his Chief-of-Staff.  In 2011, he was kicked over to hold the same position at the Defense Department.

Leaving government service, Jeremy founded Beacon Global Strategies along with a small group of ex-bureaucrats in the defense and intelligence sector.  According to the website:

“Beacon Global Strategies is a strategic advisory firm specializing in International Policy, Defense, Cyber, Intelligence, and Homeland Security.  Beacon represents global enterprises and industry disruptors across government services, technology, energy, and financial sectors.”

He is also a paid national security analyst for NBC News and more infamously … MSNBC.

Dana Bash was born into the liberal New York media establishment.  He father was a senior producer for ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Her professional resume is not as long and impressive as former hubby, Jeremy, but well within the liberal traditions of the east coast media.

While studying for her degree in Political Communications at George Washington University, Dana interned at CBS, CNN and NBC.  After graduation, Dana took a job at CNN as a producer for such programs as “Evans and Novak” and “Inside Politics.” (Keep that last job in mind.)

Since that time, Dana has been a staple in the CNN lineup of reporters, commentators and panelists.  She is often a featured panelist with reporter/anchor John King.

So, why is John King so important to this story?  That is because King was Dana Bashes second husband.  They were married in 2008, had a son in 2011 and divorced in 2012.  For professional reasons, Dana maintained her married name – much for the same reason MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski did not change her last name when she married co-host Joe Scarborough.

Like the Bashes, King was born to the east coast liberal cloth in the nation’s capital of elitism, Boston.  He attended the Public Latin School – one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in America – or so they claim.  According to Wikipedia:

“The Public Latin School was a bastion for educating the sons of the Boston “Brahmin” elite, resulting in the school claiming many prominent New Englanders as alumni.”

King started out with Associated Press and later held a number of positions at CNN.  His main program is “Inside Politics,” but he is often seen anchoring special panel discussions during major news events.  He has been tapped to moderate presidential debates.

Combined, Jeremy, Dana and King all are members-in-good-standing of the amorphous #NeverTrump Resistance Movement.  They provide a powerful coming of echoing voices in the attacks on Trump.  There is nothing illegal about that – but it is good to know how these incestuous media relations (speaking politically, of course) work.

So, there ‘tis.
