Whether it’s Bill de Blasio or Phil Murphy spewing their progressive diatribe against the men and women of ICE, or radical House Democrats accusing them of running “concentration camps” the truth is these dedicated law enforcement agents are tasked with the tough job of protecting American citizens.

During a 5-day period, ending on Sep. 25th, in New York City, the Hudson Valley, and Long Island, more then 80-criminal aliens were arrested on a variety of charges — including aggravating assault, rape, child molestation to name a few.

According to a prepared statement by Thomas R. Decker, field office director for ERO New York:

“Of those arrested during these five days, more than half were released from local custody with an active detainer. That is more than three dozen illegal aliens with convictions or criminal charges who were released back into New York communities, further putting the safety of its residents at risk.”

Adding, “Because of the senseless local laws in New York City, thousands of illegal aliens have been released; and as this trend continues, thousands more will be released back into the communities to threaten the safety of our city’s citizens. ICE deportation officers continue to focus enforcement efforts on arresting and removing those criminal aliens who think the laws of this country are mere suggestions.”

Decker, of course, is correct, under Mayor de Blasio New York City has been designated a sanctuary city, a haven for criminal aliens. Moreover the systemic break-down in preserving the peace was sadly on full display this summer as New York’s Finest were continually assaulted by street punks dowsing police officers with buckets of water, and in once incident captured on video a police officer making an arrest was pelted with a bucket thrown within a crowd hitting the officer on the back of the head.

However even within this anti-cop environment perpetuated by egregious progressive polices from City Hall, ICE agents were still able to take some of the “bad guys” off the street.

ERO deportation officers arrested 42 individuals during this operation who were previously released from local law enforcement on an active detainer. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) places detainers on individuals who have been arrested on local criminal charges and who are suspected of being deportable so that ICE can take custody of that person when he or she is released from local custody.

Across the Hudson River in neighboring New Jersey, it’s almost the exact same scenario regarding a progressive governor who has abdicated his responsibility in protecting the citizenry within his state, in favor of a sanctuary policy that rewards criminal aliens, while vilifying those tasked with protecting us.

However, despite Governor Murphy’s attempt to proclaim New Jersey a refuge for Illegals, ICE agents arrested over 54 individuals throughout New Jersey during a weeklong action targeting public safety threats who were released from local law enforcement custody into the community instead of being transferred to ICE.

Those individuals arrested by ICE in both New York and New Jersey included such crimes as: Aggravated DWI, Sexual Assault, Rape, Sexual Abuse, Sexual Course Of Sexual Conduct Against a Child 2nd, Sexual Misconduct, Criminal Contempt, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of Marijuana, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Sex Act, DWI, Endangering the Welfare of a Child; Forcible Touching, Grand Larceny, Harassment, Kidnapping, Petit Larceny.
