It would appear that “McCarthyism,” is alive and well and residing in Hollywood, thanks in part to two leftist actors establishing a blacklist of sorts, regarding their colleagues who support the President.

Actor and comedian John O’Hurley who played the exocentric character “J. Peterman” on the NBC sitcom “Seinfeld” had a few choice words for fellow actors Eric McCormack and Debra Messing.

“I’m embarrassed by the obscene, anti-conservative blacklist lunacy from my leftist colleagues.”

O’Hurley appearing on Fox News singled out his two colleagues for demanding what can only be described as a public list, outing fellow actors who attend an upcoming fundraiser for the President in Beverly Hills.

The duo noted for their rolls on “Will & Grace”, tweeted the following: “Hey, @THR, kindly report on everyone attending this event, so the rest of us can be clear about who we don’t wanna work with. Thx.”

— Eric McCormack (@EricMcCormack) August 30, 2019

A day later another tweet followed from McCormack’s costar: “Please print a list of all attendees please. The public has a right to know.”

— Debra Messing (@DebraMessing) August 31, 2019

However human nature usually brings out a sense of fair play, if not a cutting retort to the notion of potentially blacklisting someone, for merely supporting someone you dislike.

“You: let’s find out who donated to Trump and see that they don’t get to work. Also you: how come you don’t want to tell people you donated to Trump? What’re you, scared?”

Moreover those the two chilling posts asking fellow actors to “RAT” on their colleagues is reminiscent of another dark chapter in tinsel-town, when the Hollywood community in the 1950’s fueled by an obsessed and influential politician fell victim to Joseph McCarthy’s smear campaign, forcing individuals under the threat of being labeled a traitor or worst imprisonment, to virtually out your neighbor, coworker or friend, whether real or imagined. Stating for the benefit of the TV camera’s, “Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the Communist party?”

Realizing blacklists are a bad look, Messing and McCormack tried to pretend that they weren’t in favor of such nastiness, but the virtual paper trail is crystal clear.

Enter O’Hurley, who apparently isn’t at all pleased at how the Hollywood leftist elites are behaving these past 3-years, nor this latest attempt by McCormack and Messing to somehow “NAME AND SHAME” fellow actors who don’t comport to their-way-of-thinking.

“I think they have the bully pulpit right now to say it out loud. I don’t think it permeates Hollywood to the degree that you think it is,” O’Hurley said on “America’s News HQ” Monday. “I think there is a nature among liberal thinkers to form packs, to form groups, whereas the conservative mind is basically an individual, and they’re tougher to find.”

Adding, “Let me just say I’m embarrassed for both of them because I know them both, I’ve worked with Debra before. They’re both smart people… they do wonderful work.”

O’Hurley pauses a moment to collect his thoughts and begins once again, “But, they’re pushing a case that falls apart from the sheer weight of its lunacy, as though the Hollywood community needs to be purged of this social and intellectual hygiene problem called conservative thinking. It underscores the fact that we aren’t receptive to a diversity of thought which is the exact opposite of what you feel the liberal way would be, and I find that obscene.”
