Climate Change Fiasco

By now you most likely have read, or heard that A-list celebrities have flocked to the posh Italian Verdura Resort located in Sicily, complements of Google. The Sicilian seaside resort reportedly features two golf courses, and where a room to hang your weary head on a pillow, after all that climate change barnstorming talk, begins at $903 a night.

The billionaire tech executives and founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin personally invited such notables as President Barack Obama, Prince Harry and of course Leonardo DiCaprio to attend the 3-day event dubbed either the “Google Summit” for the more serious minded or the “Google Camp” which is perhaps a lot more accurate.

The three-day event focused on combating climate change, which considering the mode of travel by the nearly 200 invited guests, staying home and not attending the elaborate summit, would have actually benefited the environment immensely, which should give you an idea how serious these entitled elitists feel regarding protecting the environment.

In that many of the invited guests including Obama and DiCaprio arrived in their own private jets or in their mega yachts.

Many of the guests, including Obama and DiCaprio — who has his own climate change foundation — have described global warming as the biggest threat to future generations. Moreover according to the Italian media as of Sunday (before the official kick-off) 40 private jets had arrived, with another 114 expected.

The media crunched the numbers and found that 114 private jets flying from Los Angeles to Palermo, Italy, where the Google guests land, would throw an estimated 784,000 kilograms of CO2 into the air, that’s not counting the scores of yachts and the logistics of flying in additional support services for the event.

One regular attendee told The Post, “Google Camp is meant to be a place where influential people get together to discuss how to make the world better.”

Which begs the question “better for whom,” certainly not for the environment when one compares how environmental guru DiCaprio preaches moderation in how we deal with the so-called crisis of climate change, that some predict will become irreversible within a dozen years, and then witnessing DiCaprio flying from NY to LA, by private jet, 6-times in 6-weeks.

The stunning and sheer hypocrisy of DiCaprio was perhaps best on display in 2016 when he flew on his private jet over 8,000 miles from France to New York and back to accept an award on climate change.

The New York awards ceremony was held at the Riverkeeper Fishermen’s Ball at Chelsea Piers, hosted by fellow actor Robert De Niro praising DiCaprio for raising awareness regarding climate change.

Environmental analyst Robert Rapier took note of DiCaprio’s excessive globe-hopping on his beloved private jet, along with his passion for expensive and exotic gas guzzling automobiles. Telling Fox News that DiCaprio’s movie-star lifestyle, complete with jets and yachts, “diminishes his moral authority to lecture others on reducing their own carbon emissions.”

At the opening Climate Summit at the “United Nations Messenger of Peace” event in 2014, DiCaprio was the keynote speaker.

“As an actor, I pretend for a living. I play fictitious characters often solving fictitious problems,” he said. “I believe mankind is looking at climate change in that same way as if it were a fiction. As if pretending climate change were not real, it would somehow make it go away. But we know better than that now

Yet over 31,000 scientists have gone on record saying there’s “no convincing evidence” that humans can or will cause “catastrophic” heating of the atmosphere.”

That’s not to suggest that the Earth isn’t warming it is, however, the cause may be a lot more complex than human activity.

For example scientists are still debating what caused the extinction of the dinosaur on Earth over 70 million years ago, which happens to be the most recent cataclysmic event devastating Earth, there have been many others over the last 540 million years of Earth’s existence, which for a multitude of reasons has killed off an estimated 76% of species around the globe…which leaves me to wonder regarding the Beto O’Rourke’s of the world, yelling we only have 12-years left before doomsday, and what planet they’re on.

The most shocking statement of your entire article is the one claiming over 31,000 scientists have gone on record saying there’s “no convincing evidence” that humans can or will cause “catastrophic” heating of the atmosphere.” Please share with me your source as this seems to completely disagree with what I understand is fact.

Who are these 31,000 scientists? What field are these scientists in? What Organizations do these scientists represent?

The science program NOVA had a two (2) hour program on climate change that showed that climate change is TRUE and not a hype! Also it showed how complex climate change is!

There is no supporting statement in this article that 31,000 scientists do not know that climate change is happening.

Lets listen to the Scientists and not celebrities!

Interesting you should say “Lets listen to the Scientists and not celebrities!”
Most of you have been listening to DiCaprio, De Niro, Obama, “Prince” Harry, et al. Even Al Gore.
If you do some independent research, you will find respected meteorologists and atmospheric scientists who disagree with the alarmists. One was even considered the founder of atmospheric science.
Of course climate is changing. It has been changing ever since the Vikings were forced out of Greenland 900 years ago by the Little Ice Age that killed their dairy cattle. That doesn’t mean the theory of Anthropogenic Global Warming is “true.”
Yes, climate is complex. That’s why none of the models agree more than a few years out and NONE of them can even “predict” the past.

These elitists are not into consensus anymore, they are not into raw power and how to get it to force their ideologies upon the masses, the new facists are the progressives

you can always tell a totalitarian group by how they attack others that disagree with them and they have to force their beliefs down others throats

You are so quick to defend your position that you don’t take time to read, or understand the statement you’re attacking. The mention of the over 31,000 scientists clearly says they, “have gone on record saying there’s ‘no convincing evidence’ that humans can or will cause ‘catastrophic’ heating of the atmosphere.” The climate changes constantly, and I don’t believe I’ve ever heard a scientist say otherwise. However, a June 2019 paper by Kauppinen & Malmi demonstrates that the GCM (global circulation models) used by those attempting to prove anthropogenic (human caused) climate change completely (intentionally?) ignore the effects of low cloud cover, which has a greater influence on global temperature change than CO2 concentrations by at least an order of magnitude. Listen to real science…not junk science!

Over 31,000 American (Earth) Scientists have gone on record saying there’s “no convincing evidence” that humans can or will cause ‘catastrophic’ heating of the atmosphere.”

The article never claimed that 31,000 scientists deny climate change. The question being addressed is whether humans are responsible for the change. So for you to push the idea that climate change is happening misses the point. The article, in fact, says that such change is happening.

You aren’t seeing the difference – Of course there is climate change – always has been – what is in dispute is if it’s Man Made – and No, it isn’t, nor can man change it. It’s a money grab – don’t fall for it

Idiots one and all Co2 is a coolant not a harmful thing, Co2 is used in “Green Houses” to make vegetables greener. Co2 also is used in fire extinguishers to fight fires.
Wake up and understand this is all bunk sponsored by the corrupt to the core U.N. who wants to control everything and rape the U.S.A. and other country’s.

Doesn’t matter whether there are 30,000 or 3,000. Listen to them. They might have something to tell you about a scam whereby governments get to collect even MORE money from you for their wretched little schemes.

When thousands of years temperature and climate data need to be erased in order to support the anthropogenic climate change hysteria it is a sign that their claims will collapse without a government scheme to help perpetuate this myth. Our climate is well within natural norms. The Bronze Age cooling, dark ages and little ice age are all fact and supported by thousands of data points as are the Roman Warming and Medieval warm periods which were much warmer than what we are currently experiencing. These elitists are the anti-science crowd looking for more power over the people.

If these self-serving elites were really interested in the impacts of modern living on our climate that might consider focusing on China and India, both of whom are massive CO2 emitters. They might also hold a teleconference and support nuclear energy development that has very low CO2 emissions, but has been stymied by fears of waste contamination and other potential hazards, to make the nuclear energy technologies more efficient, lower cost, and safer to use.

    Additional AGW INFO:

Human Caused Climate Change – And Water

Former NASA Scientist Says Human Caused Climate Change is ‘Nonsense [AGW-Anthropogenic (Human-Caused) Global Warming]

“The term ‘climate change’ is meaningless. The Earth’s climate has been changing since time immemorial, that is since the Earth was formed 1,000 million years ago. The theory of ‘man-made climate change’ is an unsubstantiated hypothesis.”

    * “The theory is that the CO2 emitted by burning fossil fuel is the ‘greenhouse gas’ [that] causes ‘global warming’ — in fact, water is a much more powerful greenhouse gas and there is 20 times more of it in our atmosphere (around one per cent of the atmosphere) whereas CO2 is only 0.04 percent.
    * “Carbon dioxide has been made out to be some kind of toxic gas but the truth is it’s the gas of life. We breathe it out, plants breathe it in. The green lobby has created a do-good industry and it becomes a way of life, like a religion. I understand why people defend it when they have spent so long believing in it, people do not like to admit they have been wrong.”

Who are the “scientists” that produced the NOVA report? Did NOVA look at both sides of the issue? Did any scientists benefit from climate change grants, or are they 100% nonbiased? did NOVA mention that those scientists failed to use even the basics of Scientific Method?

The biggest driver of climate change is THE SUN! Add in the fact that our planet wobbles as it rotates changing which areas are receiving more or less sunlight.
The wobble is slow and occurs over a cyclical period of about 25,000 years. I am all for conservation and the wise use of resources as responsible stewards of this planet. Just think about how much ash and toxic gas is expelled by one exploding volcano. Certainly more than all the total emissions of humans since our “dawn” of our time on this planet! I am NOT denying climate change. But I am denying that it is caused by human activity.
