The United Nations has taken upon itself the weighty task of interpreting global climate change data and summarily decided that human beings are the root of all global warming and must stop polluting or face extinction-level consequences.

The United Nations (UN) Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is an international environmental treaty ratified by a sufficient number of member nations and entered into force on March 21, 1994. The UNFCCC has the stated goal to “stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system.”

The word “anthropogenic” means “caused or produced by humans.”

The UN guidance document was set up as voluntary for member countries:

“The framework sets non-binding limits on greenhouse gas emissions for individual countries and contains no enforcement mechanisms. Instead, the framework outlines how specific international treaties (called ‘protocols’ or ‘Agreements’) may be negotiated to specify further action towards the objective of the UNFCCC.”

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is an intergovernmental body of the United Nations established in 1988 by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and later endorsed by the UN General Assembly.

The IPCC is the UN’s body for assessing the science related to climate change and produces reports that contribute to the work of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) of the IPCC (the fifth in a series of such reports) was finalized in 2014 and still paints a dire picture of a future where witless consumers, out of control and ironically forced by Big Industries to use petroleum-based fuels and products, ruin the Earth.

The IPCC headlines the following three statements as conclusive from the AR5’s Synthesis Report (SYR):

  1. Human influence on the climate system is clear.
  2. Recent anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases are the highest in history.
  3. Recent climate changes have had widespread impacts on human and natural systems.

The fact is that human influence on the climate system is not at all clear based on the known data. The UN simply decided decades ago that this hypothesis (scientific guess) is true.

Today, the UN IPCC website claims that global warming is currently pegged at 1.5 degree Celsius.

But a new scientific study from Finland contradicted the UN’s bad science and concluded that there was “no experimental evidence for the significant anthropogenic climate change.”

Jyrki Kauppinen and Pekka Malmi set out to “prove that GCM-models used in IPCC report AR5 fail to calculate the influences of the low cloud cover changes on the global temperature.” They calculated that, over the past hundred years, the world’s temperature has increased by about 0.1°C due to atmospheric carbon dioxide. The human contribution to that rise in CO2 was about 0.01°C.

Kauppinen and Malmi conclude that global temperatures are controlled primarily by cloud cover and that “only a small part” of the increased carbon dioxide concentration is anthropogenic:

“Because the anthropogenic portion in the increased CO2 is less than 10%, we have practically no anthropogenic climate change. The low clouds control mainly the global temperature.”

The study authors point out that their peers do not agree about global warming:

“The climate sensitivity has an extremely large uncertainty in the scientific literature. The smallest values estimated are very close to zero while the highest ones are even 9 degrees Celsius for a doubling of CO2.”

These varying expert opinions are important because the negotiations to adopt the 2015 Paris Agreement was based on the AR5 report’s definitive and iron-clad recommendations to reduce global carbon emissions.

In late 2015, the 196 attendees of the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris, held from November 30 to December 12, adopted by consensus the Paris Agreement which entered into force on November 4, 2016.

The Paris Agreement set a goal for all nations to limit global warming to less than two degrees Celsius and take steps to cap the global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

On June 1, 2017, President Donald J. Trump announced that, as part of his America First program, the United States would cease all participation in and withdraw from the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change mitigation. The official reason Trump gave was all business, side-stepping completely the issue of bad science on the part of the UN legislators:

“The Paris accord will undermine (the U.S.) economy,” and “puts (the U.S.) at a permanent disadvantage.”

The IPCC uses pseudo-ominous-sounding scientific gibberish in justifying the need for the UN to function as the world’s environmental watchdog agency:

“Why is it necessary and even vital to maintaining the global temperature increase below 1.5°C versus higher levels? Adaptation will be less difficult. Our world will suffer fewer negative impacts on intensity and frequency of extreme events, on resources, ecosystems, biodiversity, food security, cities, tourism, and carbon removal.”

“Adaptation” presumably refers to the devastating consequences of rampantly rising world temperatures: coastal flooding, animal extinctions, and human misery due to melting ice caps. The UN and other prominent global warmists such as Al Gore have been making these wild claims for 50 years now and none of them has actually come true.

Why, then, is the UN determined to ignore contradictory findings based on good science and continue to push its agenda, based on bad science, on the rest of the world?

Man made Climate Change IS A HOAX . . . Always HAS BEEN, Always WILL BE. It was made to control every aspect of YOUR life (which the UN will N-E-V-E-R control MY life) through Socialism/Communism . . . Trump and his allies 2020.

The Earth’s climate changes, indeed. There have been Ice Ages and warmer times. But I agree human action has only a very minor effect upon climate. If these “scientists” REALLY want to tackle anything, tackle pollution worldwide. BADLY needed!

Yup the U.N. had the study done using bogus study’s which were based upon flawed data and out right lies. Man is just a dot on the time line of the planet which has been around for over 4.5 Billion years. The U.N. whines about “Green House Gasses” well Carbon Dioxide is a coolant, see the lie they tell. Ice Ages have happened, volcanic activity has been around as well as mass extinctions of plants and species of animals as well.

I can agree we need to clean up the oceans, that is the one thing we really can do along with dealing with industrial pollution.

Human activity is releasing carbon dioxide that that was removed from the atmosphere by plants. Those plants became fossil fuels. This changed the Earths climates. We are releasing this “stored” carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere! In addition, humans are cutting down trees faster than replacement trees can grow. This also affects the Earth’s climate. My personal conclusion is that we need to transition from a fossil fuel derived energy sources to “clean renewable energy sources” and start a program to replace the damage done to Earth’s forests ASAP!
