The death toll from Easter Sunday’s carnage in Sri Lanka has risen to almost 300 Christians murdered by a little known radical Islamic terrorist group claiming responsibility for the bloodshed.

According to the Associated Press an Islamic militant group calling itself the National Thowfeek Jamaath, coordinated 7-suicide bomb attacks throughout the city on Sunday targeting Christian churches during Easter Sunday services.

The well-coordinated attack also targeted luxury hotels, leaving approximately 600 injured, along with those murdered

“We can confirm that several U.S. citizens were among those killed,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said. “The U.S. Embassy is working tirelessly to provide all possible assistance to the American citizens affected by the attacks and their families.”

Adding, “These vile attacks are a stark reminder of why the United States remains resolved in our fight to defeat terrorism. We stand with the Sri Lankan government and people as they confront violent extremism and have offered our assistance as they work to bring the perpetrators to justice.”

The well-planned attacks began around 9 a.m. local time, with 6 of the blasts taking place almost simultaneously. Analysts have surmised that targeting this many locations scattered around the city takes sophisticated planning, which suggests a little known terrorist group like the National Thowfeek Jamaath may have had outside help.

Kamran Bokhari, director of the Center for Global Policy, an independent think tank in Washington acknowledged, “That eight separate suicide bombings took place within a matter of hours suggests the presence of a sophisticated terrorist infrastructure in the country.”

World leaders joined the President in condemning the cowardly attack by radical Islamic terrorists, attacking Christians during the church’s most sacred holiday.
“138 people have been killed in Sri Lanka, with more than 600 severely injured, in a terrorist attack on churches and hotels. The United States offers heartfelt condolences to the great people of Sri Lanka. We stand ready to help!

Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara acknowledged that the bombings are Sri Lanka’s deadliest incident since a devastating civil war ended a decade ago.
However perhaps equally devastating to Sunday’s bloodbath is the knowledge that the attacks could have been avoided if officials were able to piece together the intelligence gathered about a potential threat of an attack by a domestic radical Muslim group almost 2-weeks before Sunday’s massacre that officials had received.

International intelligence agencies had warned of the attacks several times starting April 4th. On April 9th, the defense ministry wrote to the police chief describing by name the terrorist group involved, and on April 11th the police chief sent out a memo to the heads of security of the judiciary and diplomatic security division, regarding the impending terrorist attacks.

Minister Harin Fernando tweeted: “Some intelligence officers were aware of this incidence. Therefore there was a delay in action. Serious action needs to be taken as to why this warning was ignored.” He said his father had heard of a possible attack as well and had warned him not to enter popular churches.

What seems painfully obvious is that the government didn’t seem to be in a rush to head off the terrorist attack, or at the very least warn the churches that a potential terrorist attack might be emanate especially during ”holy week.”

This then leads to perhaps another possibility that someone within the government may have been working in tandem with the terrorists. Christians within Sri Lanka are a minority perhaps just 10% of the population.

No Muslim should be allowed to reside in any free country. They are trouble wherever they go. Only uneducated fools believe the fantasy that Islam is a religion of peace. Islam is an international Mafia type crime syndicate with a religious front. It is a rape & plunder organization in which all of its members are rabid anti-Semites, anti-Christian, fact is anti everything and everyone. They even hate their own. Shiites hate Sunnis, and visa versa. What a hateful bunch of heathens!
