Biden Says Foreign Policy Experience Sets Him Apart From Other Dems

While President Donald J. Trump has shown his willingness to take on and beat, all Democratic hopefuls vying for the 2020 nomination, former Vice President, Joe Biden, has said what he thinks separates him from the rest of the mix.

Biden, who has not officially announced his campaign, said recently that he is the only Democratic hopeful that has any significant foreign policy experience. In a series of speeches over the past month, Biden has portrayed himself as an authoritative counterweight to President Donald Trump’s “isolationist and nationalistic impulses.”

Last week, he told an audience in Germany that his vision of America “stands up to the aggression of dictators.” The problems of the 21st century, he later said at the University of Pennsylvania, can’t be solved “without there being cooperation.” His advisers have endorsed his foreign policy credentials to key political operatives and allies in early-voting states.

This may be the only way that Biden, a 76-year-old firmly aligned with the Democratic establishment, could stand out in a crowded primary with rivals who are decades younger than him and working overtime to appeal to the party’s liberal base. In that kind of race, Biden could carve out space as a battle-tested statesman with the experience to stabilize America’s role in the world.

But at this point, it is undetermined how important foreign policy is too democratic — or any voters for that matter.

Trump Says Biden Is Weak

For his part, President Trump seems undeterred by Biden emerging as the Democratic front runner, in fact, he welcomes the challenge from a candidate he has called “weak,” and who “Obama pulled off of the trash heap.” Those remarks were made during a January phone interview with Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro.

Trump mocked Biden as a “1-percenter,” in the interview with Pirro.

“He ran two or three times, he never got above 1%,” Trump said. “And then, Obama came along and took him off the trash heap, and he became the vice president.”

“He’s weak. So, we’ll see what happens with him,” Trump said.

If you recall, it was back in October of 2018, during a campaign rally, Trump said, “Remember he challenged me to a fight. ‘I’d like to take him behind the barn.’ I’d love that. That wouldn’t last long. That would not last long. That wouldn’t last long,” Trump said, imitating Biden.

Trump pointed to his forearm and pretended to blow on Biden, who he then suggested would fall over.

“He’s down, and he’ll never get up,” Trump then said.

Typical Trump braggadocio. Certainly Biden is not weak as a man: no one who survives the tragic death of a wife and a child (in a car accident) and goes on to make a personal and professional life for himself is weak. Can we say the same for Trump? I doubt it.

A blubbering moron that cannot formulate more than a three-word phrase at any one time, repeating same three times for effect.
Republicans – the sobering fact is that the caliber of this individual is far below the bar. He is fastidiously working to destroy this country. You hear his bluster & think “yeah, that oughta scare all these snowflakes here and abroad”. It “oughta” scare you. He’s a snake oil salesman. An illiterate televangelist selling horse manure in a Chanel bottle.
