Democrat women opt for white … but why?

Democrat women opt for white … but why?

Left-wing progressives – as if there are any other kinds — love theatrics and symbolism. We have seen it in “die-ins” to protest wars or police violence, engaging in public nudity to protest almost anything, the donning of those knitted pink “pussy” hats“ and sit-ins” to disrupt the work of Congress … by members of Congress themselves.

They did it again during President Trump’s State of the Union Speech. Led by no less than Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the ladies of the House (and Senate) dressed in all white to express … uh … something or other. For sure, it was an expression of some level of gender solidarity under the general rubric of feminism – at least liberal feminism.

Since such theatrics are designed to draw attention, we can concede that it was successful in that goal. To enhance the imagery, the women in white were clustered in the center of the Democrat delegation. That was intentional since they would not usually be seated in Congress in such a segregated manner. They got what they wanted out of the visuals.

But why white? I am sure they did not select that color as an indication of bridal virginity – or even non-bridal virginity. No one can be that delusional. Perhaps they wanted to show a connection to the suffragettes of yore, who also paraded in white during their fight to secure the vote of women at the turn of the Twentieth Century. Since the white wearers of Congress were all Democrats, it was a misguided allusion. Virtually all the suffragettes were Republican ladies, including the prima donna of the movement, Susan B. Anthony.

There also would be a certain irony in connecting today’s lady legislators to the suffragettes. Anthony and her throngs were protesting AGAINST the Democrat members of Congress from outside the chamber. The modern women of white supremacy – so to speak – were Democrats demanding recognition and equality from within those same halls of power.

If their purpose was to score political points, they did succeed in one goal – and that was to show a distinction between the number of women in the Democrat delegation in contract to the number of ladies on the Republican side of the aisle – where fewer GOP women were inherently obscure among the predominantly male commission despite their more traditionally colorful attire.

It was not only a point well made. It was a point that Trump, himself, alluded to in his speech. His reference to the number of women in Congress got Pelosi to make one of her few standing applauses — with the women on the floor jumping around like cheerleaders after a winning touchdown.

Like a good mother hen, Pelosi wanted to make sure that the enthusiasm of her political brood did not exceed any acceptable limits of decency. She was seen using a familiar tamping-down hand gesture on a number of occasions to discourage any excessive exuberance that might create a backlash.

In a singular demonstration of cross-gender solidarity – if that is what it was – longtime Chicago Congressman and former Black Panther Bobby Rush was also attired in white. It was an odd mix of a Colonel Sanders suit with a priest-like bib and collar. Whether he was embracing the women’s protest — or doing a spot-on imitation of actor Morgan Freeman playing God in the movie, “Bruce Almighty” – is unclear. Or maybe, in this day of arbitrary gender self-identification, he was a lady for the evening. (Note how I avoided saying, “lady OF the evening.)

Another standout among the sea of white was … of course … Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. In a contest with her color-coordinated colleagues, she was by far the most runway stylish in a striking designer-like ensemble with a slit cape that seemed a bit incongruous for a scrappy street fighter.

While wearing white created a temporary sense of sisterhood – and provided the fawning media with a bit more meaningless grist for the media mill — it will now ebb into the footnotes of history as did that similar attire of 100 years ago.

So, there ‘tis.

I was truly embarrassed to see the Democratic Women that we sent to Congress to represent the American people with their grade school antics. I gave thought recently that Pelosi was very lacking in social graces and she surely showed it with her rude behavior. Pelosi and the “white mob” seem to have forgotten why they were elected to Congress!

they were all in white to show they were all virgins to government, they needed their cherries broken so they can turn the USA into a Democratic cesspool of stupid and ignorant leaders, Pelosi,
and the newest bartender whose cherry was broken a long time ago with her Socialist and loss of freedom for American citizens as her contribution to her idiotic ideas that will never be taken seriously but like Sanders her ideas of free everything no matter who loses their jobs how much free choice is taken away from us, how much more we will pay in taxes for everything, stupid ideas
always come from stupid democrats and we now have a new bunch of female idiots ie two Muslim women who pledge allegiance to Palestine instead of the United States, so you know where they loyalty lies and it is not here, an old saying was :better to remain silent and be THOUGHT an idiot then to open your mouth
and REMOVE ALL DOUBT. AOC and 2 Muslims prove it beyong a shadow ofa doubt

No wonder women can’t get ahead or compete with men in politics, etc. due to the drama they create to get
attention with appearance, being vocal like the newest women in Congress, and articles they publish.
The quite ones get more accomplished
than those who have to be noticed at
every moment. I think it is very childish behavior and sends mixed
    messages to all generations. They
were not in church or school but representing an important gathering
of people that we elected to make
decisions on our behalf in this great country. I felt I was watching
a circus act or an award show. What
    a disgrace!

It’s a new century. Your bible based BS doesn’t fly with anyone but your own group now, which is shrinking. The source of your frustration.
None of it means anything. Climate Change is about to finish us off, thank goodness for that.

It will ebb into the footnotes of history so why waste yours and our time??? You had Mr. Trumps speech, the democratic response, and you give us the women in white. Did you fact check the president?? Did you fact check the democratic response??? How about the National Enquirer, is that not interesting to you???

Why are you wasting your precious time by reading Mr.Horist articles and wasting other people equally precious time by posting your comments?
Everybody, who read them, already understood, that you are a hardcore Democrat, who only bangs the head into a wall and repeating the same thing over and over again and again.
      Ever heard the word “discussion”?
      Guess not..
There are no variations in democratic party statements and actions.
Result is disastrous for the country. (Unless this particular disaster was an end goal).
Ever heard saying “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”?
Not my words,- words of the genius.

It was easy to see what a Liberal puppet Alexandria Ocasio Cortez really is from her expressions during President Trumps speech. She did not do anything without the approval of the woman sitting next to her. Miss Cortez did not know on her own when to stand or when to clap. Pretty sad state of affairs to think she is becoming so popular.

The hand gestures that Pelosi used from the podium were blatantly obvious, as were the responses that she orchestrated from the Democrats. One can only consider them as Pelosi’s Puppets – standing, sitting, turning, cheering all on command.

The Einstein quote is miss-interpreted exactly opposite to it’s meaning. It was a response by Einstein over criticism of his first theory of relativity, in which some assumptions like the speed of light were being questioned. His meaning was that we as individuals construct our own science approach by age 18 using common sense.
That the writer would pervert that meaning also negates the rest of his right wing BS.

Is the writer really that dumb? He states that the suffragettes were all republican without mentioning the two parties have switched positions, Dems used to be the conservative, change hating, boring party of the old and the Reps were the new idea, liberal, young idealists. in the 1960’s they switched positions. It kills your other points by misstating the facts. The fact that the two can’t compromise is our second biggest problem. The biggest one is the ego maniac, who shut down the government and thinks trade wars are brilliant, believes his outdated ideas are what will fix the country. They won’t and the Reps need to step up and point out the emperor has no clothes.
