New Cali Gov to Strip Border Defenses

New Cali Gov to Strip Border Defenses

The 2018 United States midterm election dust has barely settled, but California’s Governor-elect Gavin Newsom is already rolling out his proposed post-inauguration agenda. At the top of his list is recalling 1,800 National Guards from the state’s southern border with Mexico.

Come January 2019, Newsom plans to announce the formal withdrawal of the military personnel whose presence is helping to keep out the illegal entry into the U.S. by thousands of Central Americans who continue to arrive in droves. The future Golden State governor said the Guards’ participation in this effort “seems pretty trivial.”

In true politician style, Newsom allowed for the possibility that he might not keep his promise:

“I have every desire to pull those Guardsmen back and assist in other capacities. It’s my intention today, but common conditions change, and so I want to caveat that with that understanding.”

Newsom called the dispatch of almost two thousand National Guards merely “a stunt on the President’s part.” For months on the campaign trail, the prospective governor had opposed deploying the Guard to assist federal border patrol agents and troop members.

According to Newsom, California is a “state of refuge.” This means that the new state administration plans to welcome each and every immigrant with open arms and open borders.

The governor-elect plans to visit Mexico in the near future to meet with officials there to discuss the “humanitarian crisis” underway at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Putting illegal aliens and caravan invasions above national security may prove to be a dangerous course. Newsom also proposed that financial assistance for illegal aliens and the caravan invaders in Tijuana should come from the state, local, and the federal governments.

Newsom is no new-comer to California politics. From 1996 to 1998, he was a member of the San Francisco Parking and Traffic Commission. Then, from 1998 to 2004, he was elected to the city’s Board of Supervisors.

Newsom went on to serve as the 42nd Mayor of San Francisco from 2004 to 2011. In that role, he ignored state law and directed the county clerk to begin issuing same-sex marriage licenses – eleven years before the Supreme Court legalized gay matrimony.

In 2010, Newsom won the California election for lieutenant governor and was re-elected in 2014. On June 5, 2018, he won the California primary election, followed by the general election victory on November 6.

California is embroiled in an ongoing legal battle with the U.S. federal government. “The state has filed (and joined) lawsuits against the federal government to keep it from building the promised border wall, leasing public lands to coal companies, banning transgender people from the military, allowing employers to deny birth-control coverage on religious or moral grounds and taking away rights and protections from undocumented immigrants,” according to a Rolling Stone article.

The federal government has counter-sued California “for interfering with the sale of federal lands and for its supposedly unconstitutional sanctuary-state laws,” said Rolling Stone. President Trump has threatened to stop federal funding and grants to the rebellious state.

While Trump maintained that California is guilty of “sheltering dangerous criminals in a brazen and lawless attack on our constitutional system of government,” Newsom countered with the argument that “It’s economic suicide to attack California” since it comprises more than one-eighth of the national economy and is responsible for 20 percent of the economic growth seen since 2010.

On July 30, 2018, Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin spoke freely about California’s Lieutenant Governor at a closed-door meeting of the Koch family’s political network held in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Bevin called Newsom “a joke” and “an embarrassment to public office.”

Presumably, Bevin was referencing “Newsom’s one-time affair with his then-campaign manager’s wife, who also worked for him, and subsequent announcement that he was seeking help for an alcohol problem.”

The Commonwealth leader pulled no punches when he dissed his political adversary:

“His personal life, his professional life has a wake of disaster behind it, and the idea that he’s somebody that anybody would believe is worthy of carrying the torch of the sixth-largest economy in [the world] is an insult to everybody who does live in California and everybody who lives in America.”
According to Bevin:

“There’s a whole lot of Democrats, liberals included, who don’t think very highly of Newsom, who find him to be the squirrelly little weasel that he is. The guy’s a dirtbag.”
The Los Angeles Time attributed Newsom’s political success to a “coterie” of San Francisco’s “first families.” Twenty years ago, these movers and shakers selected Newsom to represent their causes.

Former state Assembly speaker and former mayor of San Francisco Willie Brown mentored Newsom and explained why his protege was the first choice of the city’s elite:

“He came from their world, and that’s why they embraced him without hesitancy and over and above everybody else. They didn’t need to interview him. They knew what he stood for.”

Among the eight prominent San Francisco families who have been long-time, loyal contributors to Newsom’s political career are the Gettys, the Pritzkers and the Fishers. Total funding from the eight families is reported to be around $2 million.

In 1998, billionaire clothier Doris Fisher (co-founder of the Gap store in San Francisco) cut Newsom’s campaign a check for the maximum contribution allowed by city law: $500.

Newsom’s ties to the San Francisco power base have brought him to the Governor’s seat. Now, it’s pay-back time.

Will California’s next governor make good on his promise to weaken the nation’s southern border with Mexico by withdrawing the National Guard troops? Or will his handlers decide that some other action is the course of wisdom?

All of this will become moot, of course, if the Pacific Ring of Fire continues to heat up and a combination of earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanoes cause half of the state to slide into the ocean.

Until then, stay tuned for the next exciting chapter in California history, after Newsom is sworn into his state’s highest office.

Well, we knew that Newsom would be twice as bad and brainless as Brown, and on top of that with a criminal background. A relative of Pelosi tells us a lot to expect as well with him as governor. Can see even more businesses and citizens leaving this state. Oh, by the way, did you read/hear that CA wants to tax texting? Yep, more money to disappear and nothing done.

If the new leftist Governor pulls back the National Guard, then Trump should immediately Federalize the Guard and order them right back to the border.

Agree: An attempt to denigrate National Security is a treasonous action – This idiot and all his staff should be arrested. A president did something like that with (I think) Louisiana many decades ago for criminal activity. Kennedy used federal troops in Arkansas – so there is a precedent for using Federal Troops in a state action.

liberal politicians have been trying to destroy America for decades. we (citizens) need to enforce the law since they will not. That means persons who breach our border should be executed 10 ft inside our border and their bodies deposited in Mexico overnight

How quickly the idea of state rights championed from the right is thrown out when the state does not agree with the right.Two-faced we used to call that type of activity.

One more stupid politician for Calilli. He may be stupider than Brown! Is that possible? They both should move to Mexico. All the illegals should stay with him for the first year and be given housing on his street forever, especially the criminals.

Maybe a wall should be built around
California so they can bring all the
migrants there and give them everything they need and want. Then
they could all be happy until the
whole state falls in the ocean. They
have such a jerk for a governor elected by them, they should not have to need anything from the rest
    of us.

No one should wonder why the taxes are so high in CA. All the freebies they hand out. Now this idiot governor wants not on his state government, but the federal government (meaning the rest of us) to provide financial aid to all those ” illegal aliens and the caravan invaders in Tijuana. ” !! Talk about the downfall of the so called middle class. This idiot should be impeached for proposing that we give money to these illegals which only encourages more to leave South and Central America to get on welfare here in the states !
