Kanye West Unhinges the Left

Kanye West Unhinges the Left

We all realize that we are moving into the home stretch of a pretty important midterm election. We are in the sprint phase of the race. But, even with all that in mind, one could not have imagined how a Kanye visit to the White House would have so intensely unhinged the anti-Trump media. It was unique because this time the attack was not against Trump – although there was some of that, of course. The main target was Kanye West.

To use the phrase, they totally lost it. Lost what? All semblance of objectivity – of which they already had in short supply – and all semblance of honesty, decency, fairness and composure. It was obvious that Kanye West scared the bejesus out of them. They were in panic mode – something that happens when you see disaster on the horizon. With little ability to defeat the message, they went after the messenger. It was character assassination and the politics of personal destruction rolled together.

The award for the most disgusting performance in live interviews goes to Michael Eric Dyson, Professor of Sociology at Georgetown University, appearing on the Ari Melber show on MSNBC. I have long wondered why a person with Dyson’s ignorant racist views could survive in any university dedicated to intellectual pursuits. I doubt that even this tirade will get him booted or even censured.

In one of the grossest examples of hypocrisy, Dyson described himself as an admirer and a friend of West. He then when on to describe his “friend” as a narcissist. He described West as a ventriloquist dummy with his “Black mouth moving” but Trump’s words coming out.

Of course, Dyson joined in the phony diagnosis club by alluding several times to West’s mental conditions. Dyson claimed that it has to do with the passing of West’s mother. Dyson dubbed West “Kanye Mess.”

Dyson ended his diatribe with his alleged longing for the “old” Kanye West – you know, the one that attacked Republicans like all obedient Blacks are supposed to do.

And it was not just Dyson’s words. It was his overwrought demeanor — his hysterical yelling into the camera. He ranted on and on as Melber gave him the floor like it was a Senate filibuster. Eventually, either the time available ran out or Dyson ran out of academic level pejoratives, but the rant – no rampage – ended with a fawning Melber responding to Dyson’s disjointed rhetorical effluent with “Makes a lot of sense.”

Melber was followed up by that left-wing scold, Chris Mathews, who hosts a program that would be better named “Foul Ball” rather than “Hardball. Mathews contribution to the civil dialogue was the West was like a “drunken uncle at a wedding.”

Switching over to CNN – and actually believing that I would find cooler heads and calmer emotions – I discovered that the dump on West was in full force. Gloria Borger was there declaring that West was disrespectful for the use of the “f-bomb” in the Oval Office. She criticized Trump for not admonishing West for his intemperate language – proving that there is no issue too small or too meaningless to twist into a condemnation of Trump.

The “get Trump” theatrical production was well cast. It featured the ever-present character listed as the “Republican Strategist.” This is the person who is intended to give the production an appearance of balance, but in the end, they read off the same script of the Trump-hating players. I am writing about his presence without his name because I did not add it to my notes and it is not worth the time or effort to find it. It is a minor role and the people playing that part of fungible.

Then there was CNN’s Don Lemon – a man who well represents his last name. Lemon is one of the least objective of the lessor objective media personalities – and he reaffirmed that reputation in this instance. When asked to comment, Lemon dropped his head into his had (Pictured above) in an expression of hopeless exasperation. He acted as if he did not know what to say — although he wound up saying a lot of nasty stuff.

Lemon said he was so overwhelmed by what he saw on the screen during the West/Trump meeting that he had to turn off the television. That seemed to me to be an odd reaction by a journalist supposedly dedicated to getting all the facts. But then, I assume too much.

Lemon said the meeting was bad for West. He had embarrassed himself. Oh no! According to Lemon, West had embarrassed the ENTIRE black community. Get it? In Lemon’s world, there are no differing opinions. All blacks must – and do – think alike.

Lemon went on to say that West was being used. That’s right. West is not a person. He is not intelligent. He does not have his own mind and his one belief. Become an apostate of Democrat orthodoxy – like Dyson’s dummy analogy.

Lemon did not intimate mental illness, he declared it. He begged West more than once to “get help.” Knowing that West had lost his beloved mother, Lemon sunk to an unimaginable low. He said that West’s mother would be “turning over in her grave” to hear what he said in the Oval Office. It is difficult to come up with words sufficient to describe Lemon’s reprehensible behavior. Is this vicious, heartless and mean-spirited attack what Michelle Obama meant when she said, “we go high?” If there ever was a basket of deplorables, Dyson, Lemon and a few others would be in it.

One more sign that Democrats have lost whatever moral compass they claim to have.

davidlaing you said right, whatever moral compass, because they have none. They have finally shown their true colors and the people that do have some sense and are in the Demoncrat party are leaving in droves. On YouTube they even have a special section where people that were former Dem’s apologize to Republicans! And then say why they left. We need more people to wake up and smell the coffee!

Trump is hardly the arbiter of morality. He used Konye to feed his narcissism.
