Democratic Staffer Arrested for Doxxing GOP Senators

Democratic Staffer Arrested for Doxxing GOP Senators

Lawlessness now seems the only card Democrats have left to play, regarding the reckless behavior by a congressional staffer leaking personal information of GOP lawmakers during the contentious and historic confirmation process of Judge Kavanaugh.

The initial report of “doxxing” surfaced immediately after Senator Lindsey Graham’s impassioned defense of judge Kavanaugh, followed by a handful of other Republican senators complaining that their personal information was somehow spread all over the internet.

After an extensive investigation, Capital Police arrested the culprit – Democratic congressional staffer named Jackson Cosko – for leaking the personal information of Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Mike Lee (R-UT).

The willful and dangerous leak by Cosko – publicly adding home addresses to the senators’ public Wikipedia pages – could have resulted in a catastrophic event to each of those lawmakers.

Cosko, 27, is charged with making public restricted personal information, witness tampering, threats in interstate communication, unauthorized access of a government computer, identity theft, second-degree burglary and unlawful entry – and possibly additional charges yet to be added.

The young staffer not surprisingly worked for some of the more radical Democrats within the party, most recently for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), and also for former Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA).

Fox News reported that Cosko also worked or interned for Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Ironically, Sen. Hassan also had another young staffer going off the rails in recent months. Earlier this year, one of her interns shouted “Mr. President, f— you!” across the Capitol Rotunda at President Trump as he was being escorted into the office of House Speaker Paul Ryan. Hassan’s office, of course, declined to comment on Cosko’s arrest.

The arrest of Cosko by Capital Hill Police immediately drew denials by Jackson Lee’s office of having any knowledge of the cyber break-in, furthermore stating to Fox News that Cosko had only worked there for a couple of months, and had also just been terminated.

Glenn Rushing, Jackson Lee’s chief of staff, told Fox News, “It’s unfortunate,” adding that Jackson’s office was “cooperating with law enforcement.”

A LinkedIn page attributed to Cosko describes him as a “Democratic Political Professional & Cyber-security Graduate Student.”
On Monday, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s personal information also found its way to his public Wikipedia page.

The security breach was first caught by a “Twitter bot” within the international publication network that automatically tracks any changes made to Wikipedia entries from anyone located in the U.S. Congress and publicizes them on the social media site.

Apparently, the election of Donald Trump and the recent confirmation battle of Judge Kavanaugh have unleashed a wave of unabashed attacks by unelected young staffers working for Democratic lawmakers along with government contract workers to either harass Republican lawmakers or breach sensitive personal information.

Just recently, Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen was dining with a friend at a Mexican restaurant when they were suddenly accosted by demonstrators shouting “Kirstjen Nielsen, you’re a villain! Lock her up! How can you enjoy a Mexican dinner as you’re deporting and imprisoning tens of thousands of people who come here seeking asylum in the United States?”

It was later revealed that one of the key organizers of the demonstration was a young DOJ contact worker, who was later terminated after her contract expired.

Doxxing is the internet-based practice of researching and broadcasting private or identifiable information about an individual or organization.
