MSNBC/CNN political contributor Steve Schmidt, previously billed as a Republican strategist, has announced that he is leaving the Republican Party. Of course, he left it long before his recent statement. For months, he has been one of the leading false-flag analysts for left-wing media.

Schmidt has long billed himself as a conservative Republican and one-time advisor to Senator John McCain. There is no doubt that he was a Republican and he did work for McCain. He worked on Republican campaigns. He voted in Republican primaries.

His claim to be a conservative in terms of being a true believer in limited government policies is much more questionable. He has been described as a moderate Republican (more left-leaning) by some and a Republican in Name Only (RINO) by others. He was among those Republicans more interested in Republican control over an ever-expanding central government in Washington than fighting it. He was on the more liberal side in the existential battle to stop federal government expansionism. He was a GOP creature of that bipartisan establishmentarian swamp in the nation’s capital.

Schmidt was never one to fight for lower taxes, deregulation, shrinking the size and power of the federal government. He was not a pro-lifer. No, he was never a true conservative.

With his faction of the Republican Party being drained out of the swamp in Washington, Schmidt traded any principles he may have held for the media attention and paychecks he could gain by betraying his party and any marginal conservative beliefs he may have held. He made himself one of the most vicious attack dogs in the MSNBC/CNN kennel.

Schmidt’s condemnation of President Trump, his appointees, his supporters and his voters often surpassed the rhetoric of such ethically and factually challenged hate mongers as Stephanie Ruhle, Joe Scarborough, Katy Tur, Mika Brzezinski, Larry O’Connell, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow and all those bobblehead panelists that serve in the leftist echo chamber.

Schmidt most surely understood that his access to national media exposure – his last and best source of fame and fortune — depended on a convincing repudiation of everything Republican and conservative. He provided the left-wing elitist media with a false appearance of bipartisanship without actually offering an alternative view to their preconceived and strategically implemented false narratives. He joined the legion of political propagandists on the radical left.

Perhaps the #NeverTrump media actually believed that they gained undeserved credibility by presenting such false-flaggers – and God knows, they do it a lot. It seems unlikely, however, that even the most ardent members of the Trump resistance movement were fooled by Schmidt’s mislabeling.

Well, Schmidt has finally come out of the political closet and belatedly declared his separation from the Republican Party. While he has struck the false flag, his declaration will not change his rhetoric – nor will it make his public statements any more influential with the audience.

For the time being, Schmidt will continue to play the puppet panelist for the anti-Trump cable shows. In terms of influence, however, he is a has been – maybe a never was.

maybe he didn’t support the tax change because it was a terrible bill?! Giving the 1 % the best and biggest breaks, only adds to the deficit and debt this country carries. Does not make him a RINO . A mod republican sure, however there are MANY of us. I call us us real republicans, NOT what the republican party has become! As nichole Wallace has stated, the party is unrecognizable these days. “We didn’t leave our party they left us! “

So Trump is draining the swamp, huh? What he’s doing is introducing a new class of reptilian life, including the Pruitt, the DeVos, the Zinke, and many creatures from the Goldman-Sachs period. And arriving with the Trumposaurus are the Jordan, Meadows, Gohmert and Gaetz special. Schmidt is wise to flee from such beasts.
