George Will is a 46-year Washington Post columnist who is often referred to as a “legendary” journalist. He recently wrote a scathing and slanderous screed vilifying Vice President Pence that won him yet another appearance on MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.” Listening to O’Donnell’s arrogant and asymmetrical analyses of political events on a continuous loop, one can only hope that he would live up to the show’s title – but that is another subject for another time.

Will’s poison-tipped pen was so vicious that any rational analysis would conclude that it was motivated more by extreme emotion than informed intellect. Without Will’s emphasis on obscure words as a type of pseudo-sophistication that has a special appeal for that small claque of phony liberal intellectuals (Oh, but I already mentioned Lawrence O’Donnell), Will’s column would rise to the standard of an Alex Jones commentary. It is the kind of unhinged ad hominem attack that might be more understandable if coming from a wronged party in a bitter divorce.

The column proffers the argument that Pence is “America’s most repulsive figure.” It is no small irony that Will engages in the same insulting hyperbolic rhetoric for which he so often criticizes President Trump. He seems not to understand that civil discourse can be eroded with polished prose as much as guttural vulgarities.

In opening his column, Will writes:

“Donald Trump, with his feral cunning, knew. The oleaginous Mike Pence, with his talent for toadyism and appetite for obsequiousness, could, Trump knew, become America’s most repulsive public figure. And Pence, who has reached this pinnacle by dethroning his benefactor, is augmenting the public stock of useful knowledge. Because he is the authentic voice of today’s lickspittle Republican Party, he clarifies this year’s elections: Vote Republican to ratify groveling as governing.”

To save you a trip to the online dictionary, “oleaginous” means oily or greasy. O’Donnell was so impressed that Will made the word the leading online look-up of the moment it was the opening teaser for the Will appearance.

The over-academic-ed Will ( University Laboratory High School, Princeton University, Magdalen College, Oxford, Trinity College) incongruously offers up an out-of-context disconnected quote from Abraham Lincoln in which Will brazenly violates the sanctity and solemnity of the 16th President’s words with his own interspersed language. It comes off as a convoluted attempt to explain Will’s own moral foundation. He writes:

“Lincoln lamented that throughout America, ‘so lately famed for love of law and order,’ there was a ‘mobocratic spirit’ among ‘the vicious portion of [the] population. So, ‘let reverence for the laws . . . become the political religion of the nation.’”

As an amateur Lincoln scholar, I would remind Will that the Great Emancipator was a man of poignant, simple language where the words carried the message — but were not the messages, themselves. In that regard, Will would have been more honorably served to have based his commentaries on Lincoln’s more common and more relevant admonition: “With malice for none, with charity for all.”

In spirit, this column by Will would be better suited for the sleaziest of the check-out counter tabloids or the bottom of a birdcage.

Exactly correct Sue! And to Larry Horist I say that I know you are blessed with a writing talent that could serve our Constitutional Republic well, if only you would do so as an honorable, honestl, factually truthful, informing writer,As how George Will seems to apply as his sincerest efforts toward informing every Citizen,as well as anyone else. He has got “under my skin” many times with his presentations, positions, opinions, etc., but he is still a defender of our Constitutional Republic FIRST AND FOREMOST, BEFORE ALL ELSE! No matter his Ideology, political party, supporters, or whatever else may expected to interfere within, or without, himself! You, Larry Horist, fail that “test” miserably! You also fail to live up to Abraham Lincoln’s spoken words, you use to wrap yourself in, such as “WITH MALICE FOR NONE, WITH CHARITY FOR ALL”! YOU ARE THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF THAT IN YOUR DISHONORABLE AND NEGATIVELY “SPUN” UNTRUTHS WITHIN YOUR WRITINGS, AND BETTER EXEMPLIFY THOSE WORDS THAT LINCOLN SPOKE IN CONDEMNATION OF “A VICIOURLS PORTION OF THE POULATION” WHEN HE SAID WHAT YOU CITED ABOVE, IN YOUR APPLYING THOSE WORDS TO GEORGE WILL,WHEN THEY PERFECTLY DESCRIBE YOU! YOU ARE NO PATRIOTIC CITIZEN! YOU ARE A SELLOUT OF THE WORST KIND! FOR THE MOST MONEY YOU CAN AQUIRE FOR YOURSRLF, NO MATTER THE TERRIBLE CONSEQUENCES YOU MAY HELP CAUSE TO WELL BEING OF YOUR NATION AND THE MAJORITY OF ITS PEOPLE! YOU AND THOSE LIKE OR SIMILAR TO YOU, SHOULD BE MADE TO “PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTHS ARE”!, AND “PUT UP OR SHUT UP”!, AND SUBSTANTIATE YOUR CLAIMED “FACTS” YOU SO EASILY PUT YOUR “SPINS” ON THAT DELIBERATELY PRESENTS THEM SO OUT OF CONTEXT THAT YOUR INTENT IS OBVIOUSLY MEANT FOR EVERYONE TO BELIEVE THE OPPOSITE OF THEIR FACTUALLY TRUE MEANINGS! THAT PROVES YOU TO BE A COMPLETE AND UTTER LIAR! A SCOUNDRAL, WITH NO REDEEMING,OR POSITIVE HUMAN TRAITS OR VALUES! ZILCH! NONE! DEVOID OF!YOU AND THOSE YOU FOLLOW EXEMPLIFY SUCCESS OF “THE DEVILS WORK”! YOU ALL ARE “THE DEVILS WORKERS” AT THE PRESENT TIME, AT LEAST! YOU ARE A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER TO OUR NATION AND MOST OF “WE THE PEOPLE” OF OUR REPUBLIC! SHAME ON YOU! YOUR GOD IS MONEY,( “WEALTH”?), AND POWERS OF THE WORST KIND, (“TYRANY”?), THAT HAVE PLAGUED HUMANITY FOREVER, AND ARE, (“UNDESIRABLE SOURCES OF INHERENT EVILS”?), ALWAYS PRESENT WITHIN EVERY HUMAN BEING ALONGSIDE AND IN “COMPETITION” WITH, (DESIRABLE SOURCES OF INHERENT GOOD”?), THEIR OPPOSITES!

George Will use to be a star.. he was popular-and respected…

Then his life changed and he ended up living behind a desk, most of his information came 3rd party.. he lost most of his street knowledge and most of his “connections”.

Today most of his stories are from “unamed sources” – you know, “mystery sources”… think about it, he fabricates or echoes most of what you hear from the Comedy News Network and their shadows.
