“A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership” released April 17th, is a book written by former F.B.I director James Comey that professes to “tell all” on the Trump presidency by discussing whether member’s of Trump’s campaign conspired with Russia to influence the 2016 election.

With high anticipation, the left truly hoped that the book would lay out all of the misdeeds that might have legal implications for President Trump. They hoped that the hostility that Comey has from his being fired from his post by Trump would encourage him to spill the beans so that the information could potentially be used to impeach or imprison President Trump. Fortunately, the prayers of those hopefuls on the left went unanswered.

Ill Feelings and Bad Behavior

It should come as no surprise that Comey used his book as an opportunity to tell the world his side of things from a personal perspective. He mentions his own interpretations of how Trump handled situations, lost his temper, and did or said rude things.

He even openly discusses the conversations that he shared with President Trump on some topics; however, he stopped there. “I have one perspective on the behavior I saw, which while disturbing, actually fall short of being illegal,” Comey was quoted as saying in the Washington Post. Additionally, his book further hurts the hearts of left-winged irrationals by leaning more on his own failures and mistakes while holding his position prior to being fired. He claims that the only person to seemingly obstruct justice was himself when he made the decision to disclose the emails of Hillary Clinton only 11 days before the 2016 election—something that Hillary claims to have been the nail in the coffin of her election hopes.

He does not claim that Trump had anything to do with his decision and he stands firm on his admittance to his own decision stating in an interview with the New York Time’s Michiko Kakutani, “It is entirely possible that, because I was making decisions in an environment where Hillary Clinton was sure to be the next president, my concern about making her an illegitimate president by concealing the restarted investigation bore greater weight than it would have if the election appeared closer of if Donald Trump were ahead in the polls.”

Comey continues to stress the fact that Trump did not participate in anything criminal when discussing the collusion investigation. He has made it clear by warning others that he might disagree with Trump’s leadership but it has nothing to do with any illegal activities or behavior on the part of President Trump. It only goes to show that left-winged interference can do more harm than good when honest media falls through the cracks of democracy.
