Bill Kristol joins the impeachment movement?

I have known Bill Kristol for more than 30 years. I have admired him as a political friend and ally. I even agreed with much of his so-called neo-con conservatism. Sadly, Kristol, who is editor of The Weekly Standard, a conservative magazine, and son of the late Irving Kristol, one of the icons of the conservative movement, seems to have become one of those false-flag Republicans – or in his case, a false-flag conservative. He joins people like Steve Schmidt, Elise Joran, Richard Painter and Ana Navarro who wave their past Republican conservative credentials while fully advocating the extreme partisan left-wing views of Democrats and the never Trump news media. They are the political turn-coats that CNN and MSNBC use in a pathetically false display of balance.

Kristol was anti-Trump during the primaries. I was, too. He showed disdain for Trump’s pugnacious personality. So did I. But that is where Kristol and I seemed to have parted. Seeing the only alternative in the General Election as a continuation of destructive authoritarian policies of the left-leaning Democratic Party, I cast my vote warily for Trump. Regarding conservative policies and appointments, Trump has been a pleasant surprise – even though I still do not like his personality.

Kristol’s hostility remained unabated. In a recent appearance on Morning Joe, Kristol suggested that Trump is holding his base and may even be inching up from his historically low polling numbers. In response to that possibility, Kristol “worried” that Trump would continue. Since there is only one legal method that would prevent Trump from continuing, it would appear that Kristol has made common cause with Congresswoman Maxine Waters in her lust for impeachment.

He seems to be willing to return the federal government to the radical authoritarian policies of the current Democratic Party.
